It feels like I just left Houston yesterday. I head there every fall to warm up a bit and to take a quick look at all the new quilt world goodies. I headed back to the hotel late the first night of market and was asked by the friendly doorman if I wasn't a little chilly... My response - "Oh no, I'm in Houston, I'm fine". The same guy greeted me the next morning with, "Are you chilly now?" As it turns out it was 39°! At that point I admitted I was freezing and that no matter how fast I walked I was still going to be freezing. He told me not to worry, it would warm back up, and it did - two days later it was 80°!
I wasn't prepared for either extreme, but I still had a great time and brought back tons of neat things. Here's hoping the "extremes" of the next few weeks bring lots of joy!
See you soon,
PS It was so cold I spent time in Houston finishing up our 2018 Snow Day quilt details - they will be ready to share soon!
I would like to thank everyone that joined us in our 2017 From Our Table effort. First, thank you to the wonderful women that work in the shop. Your 2017 displays were magnificent. Congratulations go to Bonnie for her version of "The Ultimate Gift", the winning piece for this year. Congratulations also go to Luann J. and Nancy G. - winners of the kits for this runner. Most importantly - thank you to everyone that voted! Your donations to the local food pantry are appreciated more than you can imagine.
